Why invest in a Statement Piece?

Pictures stick. Let me explain.

Imagine this.

You’re on a cross-country road trip with your best friend, your sibling, your golden retriever–whoever strikes your fancy. And you need to stop for gas. But instead of nabbing a red paper cup etched with a white goose, you stumble upon a local coffee shop.

You walk in the door and feel an overwhelming sense of REST YOUR WEARY BONES HERE. The wooden tables are scraped up in that family-friendly sort of way. A cozy corner allures you–blue and white handwoven rugs, papasan chairs. A book nook? Mmmmm. It’s the feeling of home.

Don’t get me started on the coffee.

The owners are Columbian with over 150 years of generational experience–growing, brewing, and serving. You want to bathe in this coffee like you’re soaking up the homey atmosphere. You order black coffee richer than the pharaohs of the Nile and settle in for a pleasant conversation with new friends.

After peeling yourself away from a coffee-flavored oasis, you thank the owners for their hospitality and hit the road.

When you return from this amazing adventure–complete with backroads, mountains, and waterfalls–your family and friends welcome you home. Of course they ask,

“How was the trip? What was your favorite experience?”

You show them photos of hiking trails, waterfalls, and kaleidoscopes of stars that camped out with you in the California desert. There was one close call–that herd of rebellious caribou crossing the Washington-Canada border. But you assure them the trip was well worth the risk.

Then you remember.

The coffee shop.

Wide-eyed, you travel back in time. You’re comforted by nostalgic, cozy emotions and dreamily tell the story,

“There was this coffee shop in Tenessee. It felt like a home away from home on my journey. The owners were Columbian, so I got coffee straight from the roots. Let me tell you, I could bathe in that stuff. And they were such nice people. They even gave me some home-made cookies for my trip. No charge.”

“We want a taste of that. Do they deliver? Are there any around here?”

“No…I’ve never seen one before. But they had this beautiful hand-painted sign with their name…The logo was a purple flower, I think.”

You google search Columbian coffee shops in Tennesee–apparently, there are at least four. But the logo of a purple orchid confirms the coffee your family has been fantasizing about isn’t out of reach. You visit their website and discover you can order this nectar of the gods.

The Christmas guessing game is over–Click. Click. Done.

Your statement piece is a visual road map. It guides clients to return to your product. It captures that homey, trusted feel your product delivers. Or, if you own a bungee jumping business, it arouses the senses and connects adventure with your product.

Pictures stick quicker than names. People remember beautiful images. Your clients can identify your product even if they don’t know your business name–yet.
